Timshel Press was a not-for-profit indie publishing outfit I operated from my laptop in Oregon until 2021. Born out of need in 2017, our first project was Invite Cats, the posthumously collected poetic works of my late sibling, Jam Hale. 500 print copies were sold at its original distribution event in Boise, ID and all proceeds were donated.

Invite Cats, the collected poetic works of Jam Hale
Compiled posthumously by Joshua Hale and Ruth E. Hale (June 2017, 168 pgs)
Timshel Magazine: An Anthology of Grief and Joy was a literary and visual arts journal exploring the topic of grief, 2019-2021.
A talented group of poets and artists, ranging from emerging to established in their careers and mostly rooted in the American West, contributed to make two print volumes.
Proceeds went to Boise Mutual Aid.
Toward the end of 2021, my mom came to me with a box of family recipe cards and the document that she had been working on transcribing her favorites.
As a final legacy project for Timshel Press, we collaborated on a spiral-bound recipe book (compiled by Nancy Hale) that was distributed to family and friends.
